Treebo Trend Brahma – Affordable yet comfortable stay in the prime area of Sultan Bathery, Wayanad!

The Wayanad district is a popular tourist destination for many from Bangalore and other closer destinations. Popular for various viewpoints, waterfalls, lakes and caves & accompanied by wonderful weather, Wayanad makes for a quick but great weekend trip and with many options to choose from it might get difficult to pick one (pretty much the situation that we faced). We ended up opting for Treebo Trend Brahma, during our 2019 Kerala Ride and it did turn out to be a good choice (not necessarily a luxurious one, but surely a good one). Read on to know about our experience

Location

The hotel is conveniently located bang on the NH766 which connects it to Mysuru and Bengaluru. It is quite close to Old Bus Stand, at just over a kilometer’s distance. Furthermore, it is also quite close to various shops/supermarkets and small shopping mall as well, making this a great choise to stay in Sultan Bathery.

About the Property

Attached to the property is a restaurant which apparently operates as an independent entity while providing complimentary breakfast to its guests. And it is this restaurant that you see first. The parking area and the reception can be accessed from the hotel’s entrance which is in the lane next to the hotel. There is good enough space for vehicles and with just 15 rooms, any more would’ve simply been an overkill. card.

As mentioned earlier, this isn’t a luxurious property. Therefore, do not expect, high end amenities such as swimming pools and spa but with a basic room service, complimentary WIFI and onsite restaurant, you’ll surely not regret booking this property (unless of course, you need the swimming pool and the spa)!

Check-in:

The check-in process was pretty much seamless and smooth. Our booking was pre-paid and they had all the necessary details. It took a mere 5 mins for ID verification and we were escorted to the room in no time! When we stayed here, the staff that we dealt with didn’t speak any language apart from Malayalam. However, they made sure that this didn’t become much of an issue and were very enthusiastic is their approach to make our a wonderful stay.

Room

We had made our booking directly on Treebo’s Website and chose the “Standard Room”. Each room was equipped with a ACs, Television, Dressing Table, Luggage Rack, Wardrobes and of course the kettle and complimentary coffee, tea and water. The room was very spacious with a kind size comfortable bed with plush pillows! The fact that we could comfortably leave our riding jackets, pants, helmets and saddle bags, and still had enough place to walk around the room, should give you an idea of the room’s dimensions.

Bathroom

The bathroom is also very clean and well maintained. Clean washbasins, well maintained western commode and a shower area with rain shower set in an area that doesn’t feel cramped at all, give this bathroom give a good feel. Another thing that we loved about this bathroom was their color. The bathroom followed a grey pattern with all the walls being painted in darker grey (not too dark, just the right amount). It gave this bathroom a posh feel.

The bathroom came with the standard amenities such as Shower Gel, Shampoo, Handwash and Moisturizer along with towels. There were no dental kits or shaving kits though. Since we carried out tooth brush and paste (and the fact that I’m a beard person), we didn’t really miss these! But if you are planning to stay here, it might be a good idea to ensure that you carry these or head out to the shops close by to purchase them.

Food

The room that we booked came with complimentary daily breakfast served at their veg restaurant that is attached to the hotel. You may order any of the popular south Indian dishes and we opted for Masala Dosa on the day of the check out (we didn’t eat anything the day before since we left the room at around 5:00 AM and returned by around 4:30 PM). The dosa was quite filling and kept us satisfied till early evening during our ride to Kochi. We only grabbed a few biscuits before having dinner in Kochi.

On the first day, we tried out the fried rice for post lunch pre snacks (not sure what to call that! Lacks maybe??!). While it wasn’t entirely bad, we found it a tad bit bland and quite a bit oily! After this, we preferred to eat out both the days we were here.

Check-out:

The check-out process was relatively straightforward since we made the payment online. Took all of 2 minutes and we were on our way. The staff was again extremely enthusiastic and helpful and tried their best in helping us get our bike ready for the ride. They did seem honestly excited that we chose to stay with them and they didn’t let the language barrier come in the way! It sure did leave us with a good feeling!

Customer Service:

As mentioned earlier, the entire property might not give you that luxury hotel feel and to be honest Treebo is not operating in that segment. However, the service that was provided by their staff was excellent an nothing short of a 5 star service! The friendly attitude from the staff at Treebo Trend Brahma deserves a special mention.

Final Verdict & Ratings

We did enjoy our stay at Treebo Trend Brahma and would surely consider returning here the next time we visit Wayanad. We’d surely recommend this to anyone who’d like to stay in Sultan Bathery area.

Until next time!
