Kochi (also known as Cochin) is a city and a popular one, in the South Indian state of Kerala. While Kochi has many places of interest such as palaces, churches, Fort Kochi and is close to the mesmerizing Athirappilly Falls, our trip this time was just a stop over in our journey from Wayanad to Vagamon. Given the terrible route from Wayanad to Kochi and the expected time it might take for the ride, we decided to book a hotel that was rated high on comfort and Hotel Coral Isle was precisely that! Read on to know more!
Location
Set about 27 kms from the Cochin International Airport and a mere 9 kms (or 15 depending on the route) from Fort Kochi, it is set in a good location that is easily accessible. We haven’t really explored the Kochi city in this trip and hence cannot comment on the convenience in terms of sightseeing but we believe it shouldn’t be much of an issue as we were able to find the hotel easily with Google Maps and the locals in general should be more knowledgeable.
About the Property
Coral Isle, Kochi is classified as a 4 star hotel and it totally lives up to that rating. The reception area is quite vast and spacious and gives out the vibe of a well maintained (and probably new) property. Tucked away from the noise associated with the main roads and yet easily accessible to the said main roads is surely a great location to be in.
The property has a swimming pool, an on-site spa and offers free wifi in the rooms along with room service, all as expected. The property also has sufficient parking space for both motorbikes as well as cars.
Check-in:
The hotel’s check-in time is 1200 hrs. We, however, were set to arrive by late evening and hence it didn’t really matter. We parked our vehicle in the basement and took the lift to the reception, where the entire check-in process again took less than 5 minutes. After document verification, we got our access cards and were escorted to our room by the lovely staff of Hotel Coral Isle.
Room
We had made our booking on MakeMyTrip and chose the “Deluxe Twin” room at the time of booking. This was an extremely spacious room that comes with all the standard amenities such as complimentary water, kettle, complimentary tea and coffee, a loaded mini-bar and an in room safe. The TV, wardrobe, luggage rack, Air conditioning, etc. are all standard which need not be mentioned for most hotels. The bed is extremely comfortable and comes with plush pillows and both ensure that we’re fresh after a good night’s sleep!

Bathroom
The bathrooms are another area where this hotel is excellent in. The room that we were in had a spacious bathroom with separate wet and dry areas. The bathing area was equipped with a rain shower and a handheld shower with hot water being available round the clock! And of-course, the shampoo, shower gel and moisturizer along with the dental kit, comb and the other standard amenities are given! We totally enjoyed the rain shower (while being careful about not wasting too much water) and was quite relaxing after the long bike ride from Wayanad! Overall, cleanliness is an aspect that Coral Isle’s staff is very particular about and this shows in the bathroom as well. It was sparking clean and had all the necessary amenities that made our stay wonderful. Right from the usual kits and towels, everything was fresh and clean!
Food
We tried both, the dinner as well as the buffet breakfast and found both of them to be quite yummy. The buffet breakfast’s spread was excellent and had a wide range of options to choose from! We totally loved trying out all the items available!
The food that we tried for dinner was also quite yummy. and the best part, was that the room service was quite fast, especially when all that we’ve been from morning was riding! We are planning to return to Kochi for an extended weekend and will surely try out more from the menu the next time!

We called in from the room informing that we’d be checking out soon and they had the bill ready by the time we were in the lobby. In case you have luggage, they’d be happy to send up the bell boy. We didn’t have much luggage as we had fixed our saddle bags in the morning itself and therefore directly proceeded to the lobby. This entire process hardly took a couple of minutes and we were on our way to the next destination, Vagamon, soon!

Exceptional. Everyone looked eager to help throughout our stay. While we do not remember any names, it was indeed a please interacting with all of them!
Final Verdict & Ratings
Hotel Coral Isle is undoubtedly one of the best hotels to stay in, in Kochi and could easily turn into a favorite destination for tourists. Situated in an excellent location, with outstanding cleanliness, warm hospitality and superior service, you would surely feel like extending your stay here! We’ll definitely stay here again!
